Government Minister to meet Brighton's global health charities making a difference
Brighton-based charity the International HIV/AIDS Alliance is to welcome government minister Douglas Alexander, Secretary of State for International Development to open its new offices tomorrow. Mr Alexander will discuss with the Alliance and other local organisations how joint HIV and Tuberculosis (TB) work is improving health services in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Health & Development Networks and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance announce merger talks
Mexico City: Tuesday 5 August 2008 16:00h. Formal merger negotiations were today announced between Health & Development Networks (HDN) and the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. The merger will create a new joint organisation with a global mandate, which will be part of the Alliance family.

International HIV/AIDS Alliance calls for greater commitment to marginalised communities in global HIV response
As leaders gather in New York to review progress on tackling HIV the International HIV/AIDS Alliance today warned that the 2010 targets for universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support won’t be met unless concerted action is taken to meaningfully engage marginalised and vulnerable groups in the global HIV response.

International HIV/AIDS charity welcomes new UK Government HIV strategy but raises concerns about delivery
The International HIV/AIDS Alliance has welcomed the British government’s long-term commitment to HIV and to strengthening health systems in developing countries but is questioning whether sufficient funding has been allocated and if the money will actually be spent on HIV services.
