Surviving the earthquake On 12 May 2008, staff at Alliance partner, Chengdu Gay Care Organisation in south-west China, were going about their daily routines when they were hit by the impact of the worst earthquake to strike China in ten years. Annual review highlights strong progress Building on strong foundations, the Alliance’s 2007 annual review is now available to download from the Alliance website. The review looks at the Alliance’s progress on commitments made in its 2005-07 strategy, and shares stories of the people and programmes that the Alliance has supported. During 2007 the Alliance reached over 1.3 million people with direct programmes and services, and another 47.5 million through information and education campaigns. By the end of 2007, the Alliance had developed into a global partnership of 31 organisations with activities in over 40 countries.
