Photography exhibition: communities for life!

Starting on 23 November 2007: Communities for life! photography exhibition
To mark World AIDS Day (1 December), the International HIV/AIDS Alliance is holding a photography exhibition called Communities for Life! showing the extraordinary things that ordinary people are doing to respond to HIV around the world.
Communities for Life! will be available as an online exhibition on the Alliance’s website (here at www.aidsalliance.org/exhibition) and as a public exhibition in Brighton, UK, from 23 November to 7 December. The Brighton exhibition will be held outdoors in a public square in front of Brighton’s award-winning Jubilee Library, and will be lit up at night.
Every day, nearly 12,000 people are newly infected with HIV across the world, and 8,000 people die from HIV-related illnesses.
The Brighton-based International HIV/AIDS Alliance is supporting communities in over 30 developing countries to take action on HIV. We are also working to make sure that the UK and other governments fulfil the promised they have made on HIV – including the promise to ensure HIV prevention, treatment, care and support is available to all those who need it by 2010, whatever country they live in.
The Alliance hopes the exhibition will inspire people to play a part and respond to HIV too, by supporting communities to respond to HIV, and by writing to the Prime Minister to demand that he keeps his promises and provides the money and leadership to stop HIV-related deaths.
