Alliance launches Global Finance Learning Group
22 August 2007

In an effort to strengthen its commitment to working as a coalition of national linking organisations, the Alliance recently launched its Global Finance Learning Group. This group will serve as a forum for assisting finance teams throughout the global Alliance to communicate more easily with each other, discuss important topics, and share knowledge and experiences.
The context for launching the group was the English Speaking Finance Symposium, which took place at Dunford House, England, from 22 to 24 July 2007. Finance members of many English-speaking Alliance country offices and linking organisations attended this residential workshop, to develop ideas and decide on action points for the future of finance within the Alliance. Delegates attended from Cambodia, China, India, Mozambique, Myanmar, Philippines, Sudan, Uganda, Ukraine, Zambia, and the Alliance Secretariat.
Similar symposia held later this year will serve to extend the Global Finance Learning Group to French- and Spanish-speaking programmes of the Alliance.
