Accountability: promises, performance and possibilities

Tuesday 15 August. Time: 16:15-17:45. Location: Session Room 3, Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

This symposium seeks to look at accountability across all sectors, including community, PLHIV, government and UN.

It aims to better understand the extent to which various stakeholders have delivered on commitments and the way forward towards meeting the targets, including the specific and complementary roles and strengths of each sector.

Participants will discuss the various commitments related to HIV that have been made over the last 25 years, including GIPA, the DoC, MDGs, universal access to treatment. Speakers will critically assess their own sectors' performance linked to the successes and failures to meet the targets and will be identifying some strategic steps as a way to move forward to respond better to the pandemic.

The floor will then be opened for an discussion.
